The general natural gas processing flow is: wellhead gas → separation → desulfurization → dehydration → hydrocarbon removal → transportation or liquefaction.

The core task of the dehydration unit is to lower the water dew point of the natural gas, while the desulfurization unit focuses on removing hydrogen sulfide from the natural gas. In practical engineering, to simplify the process and reduce footprint, desulfurization and dehydration functions are often integrated into a single unit. For example, natural gas first enters the desulfurization pipe for desulfurization, and then enters the dehydration pipe for dehydration, achieving integrated purification. For high-sulfur natural gas, two-stage dehydration or a combination of depressurization, collision, and other physical methods are designed to promote the separation and sedimentation of elemental sulfur and water.
